Becoming a Disciple of Jesus Christ

Becoming a Disciple of Jesus Christ

How can I become a disciple?

To become a disciple of Jesus Christ, we submit ourselves to 3 things: His Teaching, His Divinity, and His Humanity.  We learn ourselves to become transformed as we grow in relationship with the one who is worthy of our lives and we submit our entire self to His authority.  It means that we become, as the bible says, transformed as our minds are renewed and as our lives are restored.  At Abundant Life, as part of our mission statement and why we exist, we desire to walk in three areas of fulfillment as followers of Jesus.  We desire that we would have living faith.  We desire that we would have growing faith.  We desire that we would have a fruitful faith.  Read more in the sections below and see how you can begin your journey as a disciple of the Most High God.

Living Faith.

Discover Jesus

Developing a relationship with your savior, Jesus Christ, is the first step in becoming a disciple.

Water Baptism

Water Baptism is an outward expression of a decision to trust in Jesus as your Savior.  We identify with the death, burial and resurrection of our Savior in Baptism.

The Local Church

As a follower of Jesus, it is our privilege to grow in relationship with other believers and be fed spiritually at a local church.  If Abundant Life is not the right church for you, there are many other bible-teaching churches in our area.

Growing Faith.

Join a Group

Joining a group is essential to your growth as a Christian as you grow in faith with Jesus and community with others.

Read the Bible

Jesus declares in John 1:1 that He is the Word.  As your life begins to be aligned with the Word of God you will begin to allow the Lord to mold you into the man or woman He has called you to be.

The Believer’s Track

At Abundant Life we have a program that we offer a couple of times per year called, The Believer’s Track.  It is designed to teach you the foundational principles of scripture that will set your journey to flight.  We cover topics such as biblical foundations, how to study the Word of God and how to identify your spiritual giftings.

Fruitful Faith.

Serve Jesus

Serving Jesus is why we were made.  We have a great opportunity in our generation to see people saved as they come to the knowledge of Jesus, who takes away the sin of the world.

Tell Others About Jesus

….you shall be my witnesses, in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the Earth.

Discover Your Spiritual Gifts

The Spirit led life of a Christian is one that produces Kingdom fruit.  Galatians 5 tells us that “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control”
