What We Believe

What We Believe

Tenets of Faith (Belief Statements)

  • We believe in One God, maker of all things and being in Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, became incarnate, was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and is true God and true man.
  • We believe the Bible – in its entirety – to be the inspired Word of God and the only infallible rule of faith and conduct.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal life of the saved and the eternal punishment of the lost.
  • We believe in personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in water baptism by immersion for believers.
  • We believe in divine healing through the power of God.
  • We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and of the fullness of the Spirit being available to all believers today.
  • We believe in the Christian’s hope – the imminent personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

WE VALUE THE WORD OF GOD.

We Value the Bible. We value the Bible and believe that it is the inspired word of God, the final word of conduct and faith for all who call Jesus Christ their Lord.

Ps 119:89 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.

2 Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Ps 138:2 I will worship towards Your holy temple, And praise Your name, For Your loving kindness and Your truth; For you have magnified Your word above all Your name.

WE VALUE PRAYER

We Value Prayer. We believe that a truly believing people will always be a praying people. That it is each believer’s privilege and responsibility to pursue a healthy consistent prayer life with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Col 4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.

Eph 6:17-18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

1 Tim 2:1-2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

WE VALUE THE FAMILY

We Value the Family. We value and honor the placement of the family as a pillar in the church and community. We recognize the high value of our children and the importance of passing our faith unto the next generation.

Eph 5:22-25 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Ps 127:3-5 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

Deut 6:6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

Eph 3:14-15 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.

WE VALUE THE LOCAL CHURCH

We Value the Local Church. We value the importance of membership in a local church. We believe that it practically demonstrates accountability and commitment to the Body of Christ and its mission.

Acts 2:42-43 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Heb 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

1 Tim 3:15 But if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

WE VALUE UNITY

We Value Unity. We value the endeavoring to keep the unity. We understand that we must lay down our lives, attitudes and preference for the sake of our mission, which is to show Christ to the world.

Phil 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Ps 133:1-2 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

John 17:11-12 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.

I Cor. 1:10 Now I plead with you Brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you’d be perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgments.

WE VALUE BIBLICAL GOVERNMENT

We Value Biblical Government. We believe that the biblical form of church government is plurality of elders. A team of Elders led by a Senior Elder or Pastor. They carry the authority and weight of responsibility for the care of the local church.

1 Peter 5:1-3 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

Num 11:24-25 So Moses went out and told the people the words of the LORD, and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the tabernacle. 25 Then the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again.

1 Tim 3:1-2                  Qualifications of Overseers

This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach.

Eph 4:11-13 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

WE VALUE FINANCIAL SUPPORT

We Value Financial Support: We see it as an honor and responsibility to financially support the local church by the obedience and faithfulness of its members. The church being the storehouse of tithes to help do the work of the ministry in each unique community.

Mal 3:10-11 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this says the LORD of Hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.

1 Cor 16:2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.

Matt 23:22-24 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

WE VALUE EVANGELISM

We Value Evangelism. We value the harvest. We believe it is our responsibility to help the saved grow and the lost to be found.

Matt 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 3:15-16 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

Acts 1:7-8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

WE VALUE THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We Value the Presence of the Holy Spirit. We cooperate with the Holy Spirit for supernatural power in all we do. Welcoming and honoring the gifts, ministries and manifestations of the Holy Spirit helps us to accomplish God’s will.

Acts 2:38-39 38 Then Peter said to them,”Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spiri 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Rom 8:14-15 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
